Article 17
Membership of the Society shall be forfeited in any of the following circumstances:
- Death.
- Withdrawal from the Society.
- Forfeiture of any membership conditions provided for in Article (9) of this Constitution.
- Dismissal.
Article 18
A member of the Society shall carry out the following duties:
- Abide by the Society’s Constitution and Bye-Laws and by the resolutions of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors.
- Pay the membership and subscription fees as specified in the Society’s financial regulations.
- Endeavour to attain the Society’s objectives by participating in its programmes and activities.
- Advocating associations of amity and fellowship and mutual respect among members.
- Observing the rules of the engineering practice as determined by the Society.
Article 19
A member of the Society shall have the following rights:
- Attend the meetings of the General Assembly and discuss its agenda items.
- Receive a membership card in which it shall be printed his/here name, membership number, validity date and any other relevant particulars.
- Obtain a copy of the Society’s Bye-Laws.
- Obtain a copy of the Society’s Constitution.
- Obtain the Society’s publications or literature.
- Have access to the Society’s records, documents and correspondence at the times approved by the Board of Directors. This shall be at the Society’s Headquarters and in the presence of the person taking charge of these items and after the member has only submitted a written application to this effect.
- Participate in all the Society’s activities.
- Non-Bahraini members and non-resident Bahrainis shall have the right to enjoy all the rights they are entitled to in accordance with their membership classifications, except for the right to be nominated for the Board of Directors.
- Inquire about any measure taken by the Board of Directors on any matter, by submitting a written application for this purpose to the Secretary.
- Be nominated as and affiliate and active member and to vote, elect and be included in the quorum of these categories.
- Use the membership title according to his/here membership classification.
